We started Managing Metrics because we have seen (all too often) leaders in organizations struggle to identify, explain, and use appropriate metrics to help their teams succeed. By writing about the good, bad, and ugly of metrics used by management, we hope to improve our own understanding of how metrics can help organizations, as well as empower our readers to feel confident in bringing better metrics into their organization.

Dave and Josh are both lawyers who found themselves doing non-legal things related to business operations and strategy, product development, government procurement, and more. We met at 18F, where we discovered a mutual love of spreadsheets.
